Little ago, we had the honor of bringing to our team two persons that could be considered legends in czech cinema.
We are talking about Marika Novotná and Jitka Zvirocká, who have been foley artists for most of Jan Švankmajer films.
Those who know the genius work of Švankmajer, are aware of the big importance sound has on his films. Therefor, we feel really lucky that these 2 lovely ladies accepted to work with us no matter the limitations of our student budget.
We spent two complete days on which the movie got a new dimension, thanks to the thoroughness and cult to details from these women. we were always surprised by their talent and accuracy.
Towards the end of the second day, during a pause, Mrs. Novotná said to Honza our sound guy, in Czech: «Please, tell Mr. Director to pay attention to what he’s about to hear»… And then they both started to sing «Ananas z Caracasu» (The Pineapples from Caracas), a song from the soundtrack of «Big Beat» (Jan Hřebejk, 1993).
It was a small gift to our director Valerio Mendoza, who always miss a bit his homeland.
A nice surprise that confirms the spirit of those who keep joining our project… : )

Me alegró el día este post. Soy ultra fan desde hace años de Svankmajer, creo que te lo comenté cuando supe que te ibas para allá.
En fin, mucho éxito a todos. Yo estoy terminando lo que será mi primer guión de comedia/fantasía. Para ello estoy en plena diplomatura de guionismo cinematográfico, en Buenos Aires.
